Praised for her "confidence and sound technique" (South Flordia Classical Review), Italian/Swiss pianist Chantal Balestri is a versatile classical musician active in the European & American music scenes. Highlights of her recent career include a solo appearance with the NYU Symphony Orchestra at the Loewe Theatre in New York City and her debut with the violinist Lucilla Mariotti at Carnegie Hall.

After her debut as a soloist with orchestra at age 13, Chantal Balestri has concertized through Europe and North America at venues including Lincoln Center, DiMenna Center, Greenfield Hall (New York, USA), Miniaci Performing Art Center (Miami, USA), Wiener Saal (Austria), Sala Piatti (Bergamo, Italy), Sala Stradivari (Cremona, Italy), Kaisersaal der Historisches Kaufhaus (Freiburg, Germany), Auditorium de La Lonja (Orihuela, Spain), Auditorium De Universidade (Aveiro, Portugal). Since the age of seven, Chantal has won numerous national and international competitions and scholarships, including the Osimo International Piano Competition and, most recently, the NYU Piano Concerto Competition 2016 and the Miami Piano Festival 2017. Her repertoire includes a wide range of styles, from Baroque to contemporary eras. She has presented premeries of solo and chamber music works, including Massimo Giuntoli's "Piano store" commissioned by Yamaha Piano Europe. She has performed in important contemporary music Festivals, including “Composers Now Festival” where she has presented pieces for piano solo, and piano and recorded tape. She has collaborated with renowned composers, such as Barbara Jazwinski, Gilead Mishory and Roberto Piana. In 2008, she had the opportunity to perform the pieces of Rodion Shchedrin in a concert in which he was present, receiving praise for her performance from the composer himself. Active chamber music performer, Chantal has collaborated both with instrumentalists and singers, including the Metropolitan Opera tenor Francesco Anile, the cellist Vittorio Ceccanti, the violist Paul Cortese. She was a repetiteur at the Theater del Giglio in Lucca, and specialized in Lied interpretation at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg. She studied chamber music at the Scuola di Musica in Fiesole. Chantal earnes BM an MM degrees with honors at the Lucca Conservatory (Italy) and the New York University, where she studied with Jeffrey Swann. During the academic year 2012-2013, she has studied through the Erasmus program at the Musikhochschule in Freiburg, Germany, with Gilead Mishory. ​ She has been invited to perform for Paul Badura-Skoda, Benedetto Lupo, Jura Margulis, Andrei Gavrilov, Antonio Pompa-Baldi, Pascal Devoyon, Florian Boffard, Claudio Martinez-Mehner, Ilya Itin in music festivals like MusicAlp Festival (Courchevel, France), International Piano Academy (Freiburg, Germany), the Summer Academy of Mozarteum (Salzburg, Austria), Euro Music Festival (Halle, Germany), Miami International Piano Festival, Ferrara Piano Festival. After serving the faculty of NYU Steinhardt for 2 years, she is currently an NYU staff pianist while teaching at The Piano School of NYC, the Riverdale Music Studio and the Youth Theatre Interaction. In Summer 2015, Chantal was the Artistic Director and Director of Operations of the Festival “Amicizia in Musica” (Milan), which she organized in collaboration with Furcht (Kawaii Pianos) and the Società dei Concerti of Milan. Since 2015, she maintains a Duo with the flutist Giorgio Consolati. Together, they founded the musical ensemble “CoSì” with Italian and Italian-American musicians. Chantal is the US Promoter of the Virtuoso & Belcanto Music Festival (Lucca).
